I'm passionate about storytelling, and have been since I was a kid. I'm hard wired that way. I bring an exuberance to my work, and pride myself on being able to quickly find the beating heart of a story, its music and its inherent rhythms, and to bring an artist's eye to everything I work on.
WCVB's Chronicle is all about telling stories. As a long-time, lead editor for that show, I was responsible for generating high quality content for a fast-paced, deadline-driven nightly production with a broad spectrum of tone and content: humor, pathos, quirky/fun, history, science, medical, music, arts, food, sports, travel, animals, the outdoors. . . pretty much any and every aspect of life and humanity.
In addition to Chronicle's magazine format, I have extensive experience in both long and short form productions, including feature and short films, fiction, nonfiction, trailers, sizzle reels, children's shows, documentaries, animation, news, PSAs, promotional and commercial productions.
I'm a people person who enjoys the process of collaborating, but can also take charge and craft productions on my own as needed. Whatever the project calls for, I'm up for it.
Accolades for my work include 8 Emmys and over 50 Emmy nominations, a National Headliner Award, a Clio, a Hatch Award for Excellence in Advertising and a Gracie.
My passion for storytelling extends to fiction as well. I've written nearly thirty feature and short screenplays as well as teleplays, in multiple genres. Many of these have placed in various screenplay competitions. I studied screenwriting in Emerson College's graduate program and am one of the original members of The Strivers, a Boston-based screenwriting collaborative.
I have a BFA in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute where I created many short films, videos and animations. I also studied music production, lending my skills to several bands, both live and in-studio.
My countless, spare-time obsessions include hiking, biking, kayaking, critters, mushrooms, lots of kinds of music, screwball comedies, Film Noir and cheesy sci-fi flicks from the '50s.
